CNYMS Qualification Procedure Reevaluated
After a considerable amount of discussion and complaint evaluation the line up procedure will remain in affect as outlined below. The reining tour champion was quoted in his classified ad stating “Car was leading CNYMS points until time of departure. Really do not want to sell but I will not support a lying promoter!” “We don’t want our teams feeling we have let them down” stated owner Mike Emhof, “we want our teams supported, but also want fairness to all mini sprint racers in the northeast as well as good shows for the fans”
CNYMS will use the following process for qualification and starting positions. The Open Draw with Passing Points system will still be in effect at all shows on the A Verdi Storage Containers / CNYMS tour.
Teams will draw for the heat starting positions. The top 16 in heat finishes utilizing the passing point system will lock directly into the “A” main. The top 12 or half of the field, which ever is less, will then use the redraw system to set the first two to four rows for the “A” main. If the top 4 finishers from the tours previous race are in the top 12 they will automatically be placed directly behind the teams drawing for position that night in descending order from winner to forth place finisher. If the top 4 finishers do not qualify into the redraw spots they will then start in the order in which they gain heat passing points. If one of the previous week’s top 4 does not get into the redraw it will then allow for others to fill into those positions.
