Central New York Mini Sprints, Inc., is a sanctioning body for 1200cc Mini-Sprint Cars. Although some tracks around the area present a regular weekly racing program, CNYMS presents a traveling show. CNYMS teams travel primarily throughout New York, Vermont, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania, stopping at different tracks for “tour” races. CNYMS is primarily 1000cc Upright Mini-Sprints but welcomes the 750cc cars offering up a $50.00 bonus at all races, to the first 750cc across the line in the feature race.
In an effort to control costs for the teams in 2007 the announcement of a weight break for anyone running a stock bore and stroke 1000cc engine will be 915 lbs. and all other engine combinations up to the max of 1202cc will have to weigh in at 1015. No current year engines will be allowed as well.
Also announced earlier this year the first ever tire program for the A-Verdi / CNYMS tour. The only tire to be used for the RR will be the Hoosier 82” SP2. The other 3 corners are optional for size and compound. This program will go into effect on June 1st, 2007 allowing teams to use up their existing stock of tires. As part of this deal, $1000.00 cash will be added into the 2007 A-Verdi / CNYMS year end awards guaranteeing the 2007 Champion a Hoosier Champions Jacket as well as $1250.00 cash before bonus money. In total CNYMS management will also now guarantee a minimum of $10,000 cash at the year end awards banquet to the teams running the tour in 2007.
