CNYMS Releases 2007 Rulebook
Sodus, NY – As teams start to gear up for the exciting upcoming 2007 CNYMS A-Verdi Storage Containers Tour, the changes to the rules for this season are being released. All teams and members are encouraged to take some time to read through this year’s rules package and make themselves familiar with all the changes and remind themselves of the rules.
This year’s changes include new engine / weight packages, points restructuring and starting procedures. The rulebook is available for viewing on the web site and, as always, CNYMS secretary Tammy Sehn will have a hard copy at each event. A few extra copies will be available when the 2007 season kicks off at the 21st Annual CARQUEST Auto Parts Motorsports Exposition & Trade Show on the weekend of March 9-11 in Syracuse.
To highlight a few items: The engine rule for 2007 will be a weight per engine combination. The car will have to weigh in at 915 if running a 1000cc or less and 1015 if running any other engine up to the max of 1202. New this year, no current model year engines will be allowed. We will use a cone on the backstretch for all restarts. We will incorporate the open draw with passing points in heats for order of qualification. Top 18 in points after the heats lock in with the top 12 redrawing for the “A”. Point loss and/or fines will be assessed for any and all teams who disobey the official rules on conduct, rough driving, or entry onto the race track by any member of a team.
Now is the time to reserve a spot for your car in the CNYMS booth for the Motorsports Expo in Syracuse, NY. Contact the Gater Racing News office at (315) 457-0175 for paperwork if you did not receive any in the mail or visit their website at www.gaternews.com and click on Motorsports Expo from their main page. At the request of Motorsports Expo, Inc, after you complete the reservation form, please forward it to Mike Emhof so all CNYMS car entries go in together.
The 2007 schedule of events is complete and looks to be even stronger than the great schedule put together in 2006.
