Rain At Utica Shuffles Schedule
With the 2nd of 3 heats on the track for the 1200cc Mini Sprints of CNYMS the rains came down halting the action at Utica Sunday night. Track crews worked the track having it just about ready to go when the skies opened up for the second time forcing the cancellation for the night.
“The new CNYMS King Quad” Suzuki provided by Suzuki Motors of America and Stones Snow Sled “got a work out in the pits helping to move haulers out of the mud” stated CNYMS Competition Director Greg Hixson. “Thanks to our sponsors, we had little troubles moving our teams out of the mud.”
The management teams of Utica Rome and CNYMS discussed possible dates for the make up determining the show would run this coming Sunday July 9th. Gates will open at 3:00 pm with racing at 5:30 sharp. This will be a complete new show open to all 1200cc Mini Sprints due to only one heat being run.
Due to the flood ravished area at Afton causing postponement at the Speedway there, the winged warriors of CNYMS will be on the road in the southern tier on Saturday night the 8th at the Thunder Mt. Speedway and then head north to make up the race at Utica the following day. The rains in the East in 2006 has made for some interesting schedule changes for all of the tracks and sanctions to say the least but everyone is working together and making it all work out.
